Women’s Equality Day 2020
The LWVMC commemorated Women's Equality Day 2020 by launching two special projects honoring Dr. Mary Holloway Wilhite, Indiana’s first licensed female physician. After obtaining her license in 1856, Dr. Wilhite practiced in Crawfordsville for 36 years. She was also a notable suffragist and community builder.
Project #1:

Project #2:
A short film entitled A Legacy of Women in Medicine will be presented by the LWV. Honoring pioneering physician, Dr. Mary Holloway Wilhite, A Legacy of Women in Medicine is a brief introduction to the earliest practicing female physicians in Montgomery County, followed by a short series of autobiographical excerpts from young Montgomery County women who were fortunate enough to follow in Wilhite's footsteps to become the next generation of proud medical women.
